one bisa menggantikan a car, atau yang lain seperti a house, a phone, dan sebagainya.
Pr. : How long has she had one?
Lk. : How long has he had one?
Jawaban : For nine months.
Anak lelaki itu sedang mengemudikan mobilnya, di dalam mobil ada teman wanita yang menanyakan.
Pr. : How long have you driven?
Lk. : For nine months
Pr. : How long have you had a car?
Lk. : For two weeks.
Keterangan waktu yang lain, misalnya anak lelaki itu telah mempunyai mobil : Since Friday, Since Last May, For three weeks, for four months, since Monday....................................... sampai sekarang.
