PEMBELAJARAN XXVI : KITA AKAN PELAJARI KATA-KATA YANG DIPAKAI BERSAMA-SAMA DENGAN UP/DOWN

Dalam Pembelajaran XXVI ini kita akan berlatih banyak mengenai penggunaan up/down yang menyertai beberapa kata seperti eat, write, dan go. up = ke atas, down = ke bawah

Berikut ini kita berada di lift dalam hotel.

Lk.: Going up! (We're going up = kami akan naik)

       First floor!

       Second floor

       Third floor!

Lk. : Going down!

         Third floor!

          Second floor!

          First floor!

          Ground floor!

Docter : Put on your shoes and shocks

Di kmar periksa Mr. Down mengetuk pintu (knock the door), thok - thok - thok!

Lk.1 : Come in! Ha Mr. Down! Good morning! Sit down please!

Lk.2 : Thank you!

Come in (come into my office)

Go out and turn left!

I'm sitting = saya sudah/sedang duduk

I'm sitting down = saya akan duduk

I have a pain in my back, I'm standing up (saya akan berdiri)

stand up = berdiri

lay down = berbaring

sit down = duduk

breave in = merik napas

breave up = menghembuskan napas

The radio's on, the radio's off

on/off sering dipakai bersamaan dengan kata turn = memutar, yakni turn on dan turn off, yang lain yang sudah sering kita pakai adalah turn left dan turn right

electric fire = perapian yang dihidupkan dengan listrik. Berikut ini percakapan antara bapak dengan ibu atau suami dengan istriBerikut ini percakapan antara suami dengan istrinya, istri agak pemalas sedangkan suami tak mau diganggu.

Pr. : Could youturn on the teve?

Lk. : All right! (jawab suami sambil ngantuk)

Pr. : John, John?

Lk. : Yes

Pr. : Could you turn off the light?

Lk. : Okey!

Pr. : John, it's cold in here. Could you turn on the fire?

Lk. : oh, right

Pr. : Could you turn up the teve?

Lk. : Yes

Pr. : John, please, Very cold

Perhatikan! Semua permintaan dimulai dengan kata Could you?

turn on = menghidupkan

turn off = mematikan

turn the television up = Besarkan suara/volume televisi 

turn the televion down = Kecilkan suara/volume televisi

Docter : Come in! Good morning, Mr. White! Sit down!

Lk.MW : Thanks

Docter : What's the matter?

Lk.MW : I had a pain in my stomach

Docter : Right, well. Take off your shoes and shocks. Take off your skirt, then lay down here!
