Dalam Pembelajaran Ke-70 kita akan belajar bersama-sama mengenai kata "but".
But dalam penggunaan normal atau biasa berarti tetapi. Contoh :
He's not handsome, but he's rich = Dia tidak tampan, tetapi kaya
She lives here, but she's not in = Dia tinggal di sini, tetapi tidak ada di rumah.
Contoh penggunaan kata "but" yang tidak biasa atau dalam arti lain :
the last but one = satu sebelum terakhir
the last house but one = satu rumah sebelum rumah terakhir
the last house but two = dua rumah sebelum rumah terakhir
the last house but three, dan seterusnya. Kita dapat memperluas pengertian yang sama dengan next (berikut), dan first (pertama).
Contoh : the next house but one, the next house but two, the next house but three, the fist house but one, the first house but two, the first house but three.
Terjemahkanlah (latihan) :
2 (Dua) sesudah yang terakhir
1 (Satu) sesudah yang pertama
3 (tiga) sesudah berikutnya.
